Role Summary
The Principal Field Applications Engineer (FAE) is a senior technical role in North America Sales that leads customer engagements for Arm IP with an emphasis on SoC-level and Compute Subsystem architecture. The role supports strategic and emerging silicon partners to enable successful SoC designs and provides technical feedback to influence product direction.
Experience Level
Senior — 10+ years of relevant experience in SoC design, semiconductor IP, EDA tools, or customer-facing technical roles.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as senior technical advisor to silicon partners and customers.
- Support SoC design and system integration across CPU, GPU, NPU, and System IP.
- Provide guidance on IP selection, configuration, and system-level integration.
- Lead technical discussions on power, performance, scalability, and system architecture.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cross‑IP technical issues with product and engineering teams.
- Support Arm Compute Subsystems (CSS) and platform-based design approaches.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, Support, and Engineering to drive design wins.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- 10+ years of experience in SoC design, semiconductor IP, EDA tools, or customer-facing technical roles.
- Proven system-integration understanding of CPU, GPU, NPU, and System IP.
- System-level knowledge of memory hierarchy, cache coherency, and multi‑IP SoC design.
- Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills; able to lead technical discussions independently.
- Prior Field Applications Engineering or technical sales experience.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Arm-specific IPs and subsystems (Mali, Ethos, CoreLink, CoreSight).
- Experience influencing product direction through customer insight and technical feedback.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
