Principal Field Applications Engineer (Principal FAE)
Role Summary
Senior technical role on the North America FAE team responsible for leading customer engagements around Arm IP with emphasis on SoC and Compute Subsystem architecture. Enable successful SoC designs, advise on system-level integration, and provide technical feedback to influence product direction.
Collaborate with strategic partners, Sales, Product Marketing, Support, and Engineering to drive design wins.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as senior technical advisor to silicon partners and customers.
- Support SoC design and integration of Arm CPU, Mali GPU/ISP, Ethos NPU, CoreLink NoC/Mesh, CoreSight debug/trace, and system IP.
- Advise on IP selection, configuration, and system-level integration, including Compute Subsystems (CSS) and platform-based approaches.
- Lead technical discussions on power, performance, scalability, and system architecture.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cross‑IP technical issues in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Partner with Sales, Product Marketing, Support, and Engineering to lead and enable design wins.
Requirements
Must-haves:
- 10+ years experience in SoC design, semiconductor IP, EDA tools, or customer-facing technical roles.
- Proven system-integration understanding of CPU, GPU, NPU, and system IP.
- System-level knowledge of memory hierarchy, cache coherency, and multi‑IP SoC design.
- Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills; able to operate independently in a senior technical leadership role.
- Prior Field Applications Engineering or technical sales experience.
- Right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with Arm Compute Subsystems and platform-based design approaches.
- Experience influencing product strategy through customer feedback and technical insight.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
