Principal Engineer - Verification
Role Summary
Lead IP-level verification for the dsPIC product line in Chandler, AZ. The role combines hands-on verification work (UVM and formal) with cross-functional coordination to ensure verification completeness and on-schedule delivery.
Work closely with design, architecture, and SoC teams across multiple geographies to integrate IP verification into SoC flows and improve verification methodology and automation.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 10+ years of functional verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing verification environments, planning verification activities, debugging issues, and mentoring engineers.
- Architect, develop, and maintain UVM verification environments and formal verification environments.
- Define verification plans and implement constrained-random UVM testbenches and/or formal testbenches.
- Develop SystemVerilog assertions and coverage; analyze coverage metrics and drive coverage closure.
- Debug RTL and testbench issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with design and architecture teams.
- Integrate IP-level testbenches and tests into SoC-level verification environments.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to verification engineers; drive projects to completion on schedule.
- Continuously improve verification methodologies and leverage automation (including AI/ML where applicable) to reduce verification cycle time.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in functional verification.
- Strong expertise in SystemVerilog, assertions, and UVM methodology.
- Proven experience building IP-level and SoC-level verification environments using UVM and/or formal verification testbenches.
- Strong understanding of digital design and RTL fundamentals; experience with ARM/RISC SoC architectures.
- Effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and attention to delivery timelines.

- Experience mentoring and leading verification efforts across global teams.
- Experience driving methodology improvements, automation initiatives, or applying AI/ML to verification flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
