Principal Engineer, Test Solutions Engineering (West Coast US)
Role Summary
Lead and build a regional Test Solutions Engineering (TSE) team on the U.S. West Coast to deliver ATE-based production test development for Marvell's custom data center ASICs. The role combines technical ownership of test architecture, NPI execution, and manufacturing readiness with people leadership and cross-functional partnership.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical experience: 10–15+ years in custom processor/ASIC product engineering, test engineering, DFT, or technology characterization.
Responsibilities
Accountable for test strategy, technical execution, and regional team development across product bring-up and volume manufacturing.
- Serve as primary technical expert for ATE-based test development for new products.
- Lead development, validation, and release of production test solutions and test programs.
- Own test architecture and bring-up from design start through production ramp; drive root-cause analysis and silicon characterization.
- Define test patterns, limits, screening methods, and test-time optimization opportunities.
- Act as technical interface to customers and partner with design, DFT, product engineering, operations, and quality teams.
- Support reliability qualifications, stress testing, and failure analysis; contribute to yield and process improvements.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor regional engineers; drive execution and align with global TSE resources.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, domain experience, and leadership ability.
- 10–15+ years' experience in Custom Processor / ASIC product engineering, test engineering, DFT, or technology characterization.
- Expertise in product engineering and test development and in Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor process technology, reliability, and qualification methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead technical execution across complex programs and to influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting hyperscale or large enterprise customers is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field required. Master's or PhD in EE/CS is preferred.
Compensation note: Expected base pay range (USD) 185,390–277,700 per annum. This role is eligible for bonus and equity programs.
