Principal Engineer, Reliability (RF)
GlobalFoundriesJob Title
Principal Engineer, Reliability (RF)
Role Summary
The Principal Reliability Engineer for RF technologies leads reliability planning, testing, and qualification for RF product lines (RF-SOI, RF-SiGe, RF-GaN). Works cross-functionally with integration, device, and design teams to identify failure mechanisms and ensure product qualification.
Focus is on translating reliability physics into test plans, driving root-cause analyses, and producing qualification reports for internal and external customers.
Experience Level
Senior level. Requires 3β5 years of semiconductor technology and reliability engineering experience; candidates with >5 years and prior RF device reliability experience are preferred.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing reliability activities, driving failure analysis, and supporting qualification and lab operations.
- Define and execute reliability plans, tests, and assessments for RF-SOI, RF-SiGe, and RF-GaN technologies.
- Provide test-structure design input and participate in design reviews for test vehicles.
- Lead root cause analysis of reliability failures and coordinate failure analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain and update FMEAs and reliability documentation.
- Prepare qualification plans and reports for internal and external customers.
- Serve as technical resource for reliability lab operations and testing methodologies.
- Coordinate sample logistics and test time allocation.
- Perform work in accordance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security policies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred qualifications indicate additional depth.
- Must-have: 3β5 years semiconductor reliability or technology engineering experience.
- Must-have: Strong foundation in device and reliability physics, accelerated test methodologies, and reliability modeling.
- Must-have: Working knowledge of intrinsic semiconductor reliability mechanisms: HCI, BTI, TDDB, EM, SM.
- Must-have: Experience conducting root cause analysis and working with failure analysis teams.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with RF device performance and reliability.
- Nice-to-have: Experience working with cross-functional, globally distributed teams.
Education Requirements
Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or another applicable technical field.
