Job Title

Principal Engineer, Project Management - Chip Power

Role Summary

Lead the pre‑ and post‑silicon power execution for NVIDIA switch ASICs, coordinating power modeling, optimization, and verification across multiple engineering domains. You will act as the ASIC Power Project Lead interfacing with ASIC design, physical design, CAD, package, firmware/software, DFT, system and analog teams to deliver production chips.

This is a technical project management role focused on driving power‑related activities from architecture through tape‑out and into production.

Experience Level

Senior — Principal level. The role expects senior technical leadership with extensive industry experience (seniority indicated by title and experience requirements below).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include end‑to‑end management of chip power activities and cross‑discipline coordination.

  • Lead ASIC power execution from architecture and implementation stages through tape‑out.
  • Manage pre‑silicon power activities: modeling, budgeting, and optimization.
  • Oversee post‑silicon power validation: power‑on bring‑up, stability/quality phases, and ramp to mass production.
  • Define and implement power execution plans in collaboration with cross‑discipline leaders.
  • Coordinate with unit ASIC teams, Physical Design, CAD, Package Design, Firmware/Software, DFT, System Design, and Analog teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, risk identification, and mitigation for power‑related issues.

Requirements

Candidate must demonstrate long‑term experience delivering complex ASIC projects and leading technical teams.

  • 15+ years of proven experience in chip design.
  • 8+ years in VLSI / chip design with experience leading teams (minimum ~8 direct reports).
  • Proven ability to manage power activities across pre‑silicon and post‑silicon phases and to drive execution to tape‑out and production.
  • High‑level systems view and ability to collaborate across multiple engineering interfaces.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to identify and mitigate technical and schedule risks.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.
  • Nice to have: hands‑on experience in ASIC power optimization, power modelling, thermal analysis, reliability, power integrity, and package/board design.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
