Job Title

Principal Engineer, Project Management - Chip Power

Role Summary

Lead pre-silicon and post-silicon power execution, modelling, and optimization for advanced switch ASICs. Act as the technical project lead coordinating ASIC power activities across physical design, CAD, package, firmware/software, DFT, system and analog teams.

This role focuses on delivering power execution plans from architecture through tape-out and supporting power during bring-up, quality validation, and production phases.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Candidate should have 15+ years of overall chip design experience with at least 8+ years in VLSI/chip design and prior experience leading teams.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership of ASIC power activities and cross-discipline coordination.

  • Lead ASIC power execution from architecture stages through tape-out.
  • Plan and implement pre-silicon power execution activities and sign-offs.
  • Oversee post-silicon power work: power-on, bring-up, validation, quality phases, and support to mass production.
  • Define power execution plans in collaboration with cross-discipline leaders and communicate progress and risks.
  • Coordinate with Physical Design, CAD, Package, Firmware/Software, DFT, System, Analog, and other teams to resolve power issues.
  • Drive power modelling, analysis, and optimization decisions impacting performance, thermal, and reliability targets.
  • Mentor and lead engineers involved in power execution and delivery.

Requirements

Key requirements and proven capabilities for successful candidates.

  • 15+ years of proven experience in chip design.
  • 8+ years of VLSI/chip design experience with experience leading teams (managing engineers and coordinating cross-functional work).
  • High-level system perspective and ability to work across multiple technical interfaces.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in ASIC power optimization, power modelling, thermal analysis, reliability, power integrity, package and board design.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
