Job Title

Principal Engineer, Integration Engineering - Silicon Photonics

Role Summary

Support 300mm process integration at Fab 8 with ownership of process integration from development and qualification through customer engagement and mass production. Work cross-functionally to develop, sustain, and improve silicon photonics and related process technologies with attention to quality, cost, and delivery.

This role may require applying for a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance during employment.

Experience Level

Senior level. Minimum 4 years of industry experience; expected experience leading engineering teams and delivering technology into mass production.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include process development, cross-team collaboration, project oversight, and compliance with safety and EHS requirements.

  • Lead silicon photonics process development across RF, FinFET, FDSOI, and eNVM technologies.
  • Own process integration from development through customer engagement to production release.
  • Collaborate with process module and packaging teams to define and drive process solutions.
  • Work with Technology Development (TD) and Business Units (BU) to define project scope and ensure technical needs are met.
  • Manage trade-offs among quality, cost, and delivery when developing and sustaining technologies.
  • Perform work in compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted.

  • Minimum 4 years of industry experience in semiconductor process or related fields.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering advanced technology into mass production.
  • Strong project management skills, including managing schedules, scope, and cost trade-offs.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: experience with FEOL/BEOL processes, FinFET and FDSOI technologies, structured problem solving, Lean Manufacturing principles, and strong presentation and technical writing skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, or other relevant engineering or physical science discipline. Preferred: MS with 2+ years of relevant experience.
