Principal Engineer - HBM Verification
Role Summary
Lead verification of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) full-chip builds, owning verification strategy, environment development, and cross-team problem solving to deliver production-quality memory products.
Collaborate with distributed global teams to drive pre-silicon validation, automation, and AI-augmented verification workflows.
Experience Level
Senior level - 12+ years of experience in pre-silicon build verification for complex semiconductor products.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include end-to-end verification, environment development, and collaboration to resolve complex build issues.
- Lead end-to-end verification and analysis of complex full-chip custom builds for HBM products.
- Create, complete, and optimize verification plans, test cases, and stimulus to improve functional coverage and design quality.
- Build and maintain verification environments, testbenches, and regression suites to support pre-silicon validation.
- Collaborate with global build and verification teams to debug issues and improve methodologies.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools and automation to improve verification efficiency and engineering workflows.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills.
- 12+ years of experience in pre-silicon build verification for complex semiconductor products.
- Proficiency in developing, simulating, and maintaining verification environments and testbenches.
- Strong understanding of digital circuit build, simulation, debug, troubleshooting, and evaluation techniques.
- Experience developing verification plans, test cases, and verification strategies for comprehensive examination.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and advanced verification frameworks.
- Knowledge of Build for Test (BFT) concepts, custom BFT implementations, and scan chains.
- Experience with timing closure, critical path analysis, and data-path timing verification.
- Experience leading full-chip verification for high-performance memory or system-on-chip builds.
- Experience applying AI tools (code assistants, agents) to augment verification workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
