Principal Engineer, HBM Validation Quality Management
Role Summary
Senior technical lead responsible for Quality Management System (QMS) operations for the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) Validate DRAM group. The role ensures compliance with international quality and functional safety standards, represents HBM in audits, and drives modernization and scalability of validation QMS capabilities.
Works closely with HBM design, Product Systems Engineering (PSE), and program teams to embed quality earlier in the development lifecycle, improve predictability, and increase release confidence.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 10+ years of relevant experience in memory products, advanced semiconductor development, or system-level silicon programs.
Responsibilities
Accountable for QMS readiness, governance, tooling, and continuous improvement across HBM validation.
- Maintain continuous audit readiness and represent HBM Validate DRAM in external and internal audits/assessments.
- Lead and improve Design QMS reviews, templates, and governance within the DataTrail system; manage project setup and signoff workflows.
- Administer DataTrail and related signoff/workflow processes to support validation activities.
- Configure and support SharePoint and EDC document repositories to meet audit and training compliance needs.
- Coordinate with workforce development teams to report and track training compliance for audits.
- Support JAMA requirements and datasheet traceability integration efforts.
- Maintain HBM Validate DRAM QMS process maps and metrics; drive modernization of validation QMS processes, metrics, and reporting.
- Identify and implement upstream and downstream QMS improvements to enable a "shift-left" approach in validation.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills required to perform this role.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in memory products, advanced semiconductor development, or system-level silicon programs.
- Strong experience with Quality Management Systems and audit execution.
- Proven ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, technically complex environment.
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
Preferred (nice-to-have):
- Experience with HBM or other advanced memory products and large-scale, multi-discipline engineering programs.
- Experience with requirements management, traceability systems (e.g., JAMA), and QMS tooling (DataTrail, document repositories).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence across engineering organizations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field (as stated in minimum qualifications).
