Principal Engineer 6 HBM Verification
Role Summary
Work on Micron's HBM verification team to define verification architecture, methodologies, and sign-off strategies for next-generation HBM designs. Lead development of UVM-based testbenches, coverage plans, AI-enabled verification flows, and formal verification for critical blocks.
Experience Level
Senior 6 12+ years of design verification experience. Preferred background in pre-silicon verification or DDR/GDDR/LPDDR memory or SerDes PHY IP verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include architecture, planning, implementation, and mentoring to ensure verification completeness and quality.
- Define and drive verification architecture and methodology for next-generation HBM.
- Develop verification plans, coverage strategies, and sign-off criteria.
- Architect and implement UVM-based testbenches and reusable verification components.
- Apply formal verification techniques for critical blocks.
- Lead simulation, coverage analysis, and regression management efforts.
- Collaborate with design and build teams to ensure verification completeness and quality.
- Mentor and guide verification engineers on advanced methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and leadership experience.
- Expert proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Strong experience with formal verification tools and techniques.
- Solid understanding of SoC architecture and bus protocols such as AXI and PCIe; low-power build experience.
- Hands-on experience with simulation, coverage analysis, and regression management.
- Proven ability to lead verification teams and influence technical direction.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Comfortable using internal AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude) to improve verification workflows.
- Nice-to-have: Python/TCL scripting for automation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
