Role Summary
Technical leader for SSD firmware responsible for driving architecture, specifications, and design standards across development teams. Hands-on role that combines firmware development, system bring-up, cross-team collaboration, and high-level debugging to deliver enterprise-class SSD products.

Senior — 7+ years of firmware development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include architecture, development, validation, and cross-team technical leadership for SSD firmware.
- Define and drive firmware architecture for next-generation SSD platforms; produce clear specifications and design standards.
- Design, develop, and test firmware and development tools for embedded environments targeting memory/SSD systems.
- Provide high-level debug, troubleshooting, and failure analysis across firmware, ASIC/FPGA/system bring-up, and host integration.
- Validate customer requirements and product roadmaps; advocate for firmware quality in system-level contexts.
- Collaborate with multiple engineering teams through architectural guidance, design reviews, and technical documentation.
- Develop and improve test tools, methods, and frameworks to increase development efficiency and test coverage.
- Review and contribute to technical documentation and deliverables that meet internal and industry standards.
Requirements

Must-have: 7+ years of firmware development experience with strong embedded-systems and controller-level software background.
- Proficiency in machine/assembly languages and high-level languages commonly used in embedded development (C, C++, Python).
- Hands-on experience with ASIC/FPGA/system bring-up, system-level debug, and failure analysis in a firmware context.
- Experience driving technical direction across multiple engineering teams and participating in distributed code/design reviews.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required for cross-team coordination and documentation.

Nice-to-have: 10+ years in SSD or storage firmware, deep understanding of SSD data path (FTL, NVMe/PCIe, NAND/media management), verification/validation methodologies, automated test frameworks and Python scripting, and familiarity with AI/ML concepts applied to firmware tooling or workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or PhD in a related field is preferred.
