Job Title

Principal Engineer, Device Engineering (FRCMOS)

Role Summary

Lead device design, development and electrical characterization for feature-rich CMOS technologies (MOSFETs, non-volatile memory cells and CMOS-based sensors). Deliver device performance, reliability and modeling inputs to cross-functional teams.

Work within the device engineering organization to design test structures, analyze electrical data, and collaborate with TCAD and modeling engineers to produce validated device models and process recommendations.

Experience Level

Senior β€” role requires an advanced device-engineering background and leadership in device characterization and development. See Education Requirements for degree/experience guidance.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop and characterize MOSFETs, NVM cells and CMOS-based sensors to meet performance and reliability targets.
  • Design device test structures and perform detailed electrical characterization and analysis.
  • Collaborate with TCAD engineers to predict device split results and interpret simulations.
  • Work with modeling engineers to produce and validate device models for circuit and process use.
  • Analyze electrical test data to identify root causes and propose device/process optimizations.
  • Contribute to cross-functional teams and communicate technical findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical skills and experience:

  • Must-have: Experience in detailed electrical characterization of semiconductor devices and analysis of test data.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with layout and design rules for device test structures.
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of device and process physics and aptitude for optimization.
  • Must-have: Ability to collaborate with TCAD and modeling teams and to work in multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environments.
  • Must-have: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Process integration experience and prior work with NVM or sensor devices.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (with at least 2 years of relevant device experience) or a PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, or a closely related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
