Job Title

Principal Engineer, Design Verification Engineering

Role Summary

Lead verification architect responsible for pre- and post-silicon verification of digital blocks and SoC subsystems. The role designs and implements verification infrastructure, integrates block-level environments into chip-level UVM flows, defines test plans, and drives coverage closure with design teams.

Position is based in Austin, TX with a partial telecommute benefit (2 days/week remote).

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires extensive verification experience; the posting specifies 10+ years of experience as a Design Verification Engineer or similar.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include architecting and executing verification for digital designs and subsystems.

  • Architect and develop testbenches and verification infrastructure using SystemVerilog and UVM/OVM.
  • Integrate block-level testbenches into chip-level UVM environments and verify integration.
  • Define test plans, generate tests, and drive code and functional coverage closure.
  • Implement transaction-level models, constrained-random and assertion-based verification techniques.
  • Collaborate with design, product evaluation, and applications teams for top-level and post-silicon verification.
  • Develop automation, tooling, and scripts to support verification flows and enable continuous verification.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 10+ years of pre-silicon design verification experience (Design Verification Engineer or related role).
  • Demonstrated expertise in SystemVerilog and OVM/UVM including test-plan generation and coverage analysis.
  • Experience with transaction-level modeling, constrained-random techniques, and assertion-based verification.
  • Proficiency in Verilog and C/C++; experience with revision control systems such as Perforce or Git.
  • Experience with EDA tools and scripting languages used to build verification infrastructure (Python, Perl, Shell).
  • Proven background architecting verification infrastructure and executing full verification cycles, including pre- and post-silicon test flows and automated testbenches.
  • Experience verifying ARM- or RISC-V-based subsystems or SoCs.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline is required; foreign education equivalents are accepted. (The posting pairs this degree requirement with the specified 10 years of verification experience.)
