Principal Engineer, Design Verification
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Principal Engineer, Design Verification
Role Summary
Lead verification of Micron non-volatile memory (NAND Flash) designs, owning full-chip functional verification, verification planning, and verification methodology improvements. Collaborate closely with digital design and application engineering teams to debug, close coverage, and deliver functionally correct designs toward tape-out.
Experience Level
Senior - the role is a principal-level engineering position. No specific years-of-experience were provided in the source.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include full-chip verification, testbench and model development, and adoption of AI/ML techniques to improve verification productivity.
- Lead full-chip functional verification for NAND Flash and other non-volatile memory designs.
- Develop verification plans from design specifications and implement SystemVerilog testbenches.
- Implement and maintain SystemVerilog assertions and coverage-driven methodologies; define cover points and close coverage gaps.
- Run directed and constrained-random tests and collaborate with digital design teams to debug failures.
- Develop and verify NAND Flash behavioral models in SystemVerilog and provide technical support to model users.
- Leverage AI/ML and generative AI for verification planning, test generation, regression triage, failure clustering, anomaly detection, and test prioritization.
- Identify, evaluate, and lead adoption of AI-enabled verification tools and methodology improvements.
- Collaborate with application engineers on datasheet and model requirements.
- Drive verification activities toward tape-out and future memory generation innovation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience necessary to perform the role; a short list of desirable additions follows.
- Must-have: Strong SystemVerilog proficiency, including testbench development, assertions, and coverage-driven verification.
- Must-have: Demonstrated experience with full-chip functional verification and constrained-random testing methodologies.
- Must-have: Experience developing or verifying behavioral models for NAND Flash or working on memory-device verification.
- Must-have: Strong debugging skills and experience collaborating with digital design teams to resolve functional issues.
- Nice-to-have: Experience applying AI/ML or generative AI to verification tasks (test generation, regression triage, prioritization).
- Nice-to-have: Experience improving or deploying verification methodologies and tooling at chip scale.
