Job Title

Principal Engineer, Design

Role Summary

Lead full-chip functional verification for Micron's non-volatile memory (NAND) design projects. Work with design and application teams to verify functionality, develop behavioral models, and close coverage gaps toward tape-out.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 7–15 years of experience in verification, particularly developing verification collateral using Verilog, SystemVerilog and UVM.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification, testbench and model development, and cross-team collaboration to deliver functionally correct designs.

  • Perform full-chip functional verification for NAND Flash memory designs.
  • Interpret design specifications and develop verification plans.
  • Develop SystemVerilog testbenches targeting complete functional coverage.
  • Implement and use SystemVerilog assertions and a coverage-driven methodology.
  • Build and run directed and constrained-random UVM tests; write cover points for corner cases.
  • Collaborate with digital design teams to debug test cases and resolve issues.
  • Measure and close coverage gaps to demonstrate progress toward tape-out.
  • Develop and maintain NAND Flash behavioral models in SystemVerilog and provide technical support to model users.
  • Work with application engineers on datasheet and model requirements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

  • Proven experience creating verification environments using Verilog, SystemVerilog and UVM; ability to build complex UVM environments from scratch.
  • Experience with coverage-driven, constrained-random verification and SystemVerilog assertions.
  • Strong knowledge of digital logic, circuit design concepts, and RTL (Verilog) coding practices.
  • Proficiency with SystemVerilog object-oriented features.
  • Programming and scripting skills: C++ and scripting languages such as Tcl and Perl.
  • Ability to debug complex verification issues and collaborate across design and applications teams.

Education Requirements

MS or BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or equivalent). The posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of degree.
