Role Summary

Responsible for physical layout design and verification of analog, mixed-signal, custom digital blocks, standard cells and full-chip layouts. Works within the DEG layout team in Bengaluru to deliver block-level layouts and coordinate with global engineering teams.

Focus areas include layout development, verification, automation and productivity improvements using scripting and AI.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform layout design and development for analog, mixed-signal, custom digital blocks, standard cells, and full-chip layouts.
• Execute layout verification: LVS, DRC, antenna, shielding, matching, latch-up, EM/IR and totem checks; perform quality checks and documentation.
• Develop digital block layouts using auto placement and routing tools.
• Implement and maintain scripting/Skill-based automation to improve productivity.
• Plan and estimate area/time, schedule and execute multiple projects to meet deadlines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor team members; review sub-block layouts.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure project success.
• Apply AI and automation to reduce layout effort.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Proven experience in physical layout for analog, mixed-signal and custom digital designs.
• Hands-on experience with layout verification and signoff checks (LVS, DRC, antenna, matching, latch-up, EM/IR, totem).
• Experience with digital auto placement and routing tools.
• Ability to write/maintain Skill scripts or similar automation; basic coding for layout automation.
• Strong planning, estimation, scheduling and leadership in multi-project environments.
• Effective communication with distributed/global teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience applying AI to layout automation and productivity improvements.
