Role Summary
Senior hardware design engineer for Arm's Systems Media IP group, focused on Image Signal Processors (ISPs), display processors and video codecs. The role leads unit-level or multi-unit RTL development, collaborates with verification, modeling, software and architecture teams, and drives design quality, performance, and deliverability for multimedia IP.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 15+ years of ASIC RTL design experience, with prior technical or team leadership for senior positions.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical ownership, end-to-end hardware delivery, and cross-team collaboration.
- Own unit-level development, multiple-unit hierarchies, or act as technical lead for an IP.
- Design and verify hardware modules implementing imaging algorithms or video codecs.
- Perform architectural investigation, modeling, specification, design, simulation, backend implementation support, and IP maintenance.
- Identify and implement process or methodology improvements to increase design efficiency.
- Collaborate with verification, modelling, software driver, architecture, and research teams.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and team members.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and relevant experience; desirable skills listed separately.

Must-have: 15+ years of ASIC RTL design experience, ideally with multimedia IP or related high-performance peripherals.

Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL.

Must-have: Experience across all design stages: concept, specification, implementation, testing, documentation, and support.

Must-have: Proficiency with UNIX and scripting (TCL, Perl, Python, or shell).

Must-have: Prior technical and/or team leadership experience for senior roles.

Nice-to-have: Knowledge of advanced image-processing algorithms or AI/ML-based computer-vision techniques.

Nice-to-have: Experience with industry-standard interfaces and protocols (AMBA, DDR) and functional-safety development (ISO 26262 / IEC 61508).
