Principal Engineer, Component Engineering

Role Summary

Serve as a principal technical leader in Component Engineering, driving strategic technical direction, design and qualification methodologies, and product technology roadmaps. Work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve complex engineering challenges and mentor engineering teams.

Experience Level

Senior level. Preferred 12+ years of relevant engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, innovation in design and qualification, and mentoring across teams.

  • Set strategic technical direction for component and product development.
  • Lead innovation in design methodologies, qualification testing, and production optimization.
  • Act as technical authority on complex electrical, mechanical/optical, DSP, and IC architecture topics.
  • Define and influence qualification and test standards across the organization.
  • Mentor and develop engineering teams; provide technical guidance to projects.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on product and technology strategy.
  • Support cross-domain system integration and reliability initiatives.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.

Requirements

Required technical expertise and leadership for this role.

  • Proven record of strategic technical leadership and industry recognition.
  • Deep expertise in product reliability and qualification testing.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic design and integrated circuit architecture.
  • Experience with mechanical and optical systems engineering and system-level integration.
  • Proven contributions in digital signal processing implementation.
  • Experience leading production optimization and defining manufacturing/test methodologies.
  • Ability to influence organizational direction and mentor technical teams.

Education Requirements

Master's or PhD preferred in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Notable industry recognition and extensive relevant experience are expected for senior candidates.
