Role Summary

Join the QuestaSim (simulation) R&D team at Siemens EDA to architect and implement advanced algorithms and software that power industry-leading simulation tools. You will work with senior engineers to define technical direction and own strategic initiatives from conception through delivery.

Experience Level

Senior-level — expected 15–25 years of professional software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Architect and implement cutting-edge algorithms and software designs for simulation tools.
• Define and drive complex, open-ended technical scopes and innovative solutions.
• Design, develop, and enhance production-quality components, engines, and algorithms; improve existing codebases.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to solve complex software and algorithmic problems.
• Deliver project milestones with strong analytical and problem-solving approaches.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the team.
• Contribute to continuous process and quality improvements for software engineering and algorithms.

Requirements

Must-have skills and conditions:

• 15–25 years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated ability to architect and implement large-scale systems.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, data structures, and algorithms.
• Deep expertise in compiler concepts and optimizations.
• Proven experience developing production-quality software and improving existing codebases.
• Experience working on UNIX and/or Linux platforms.
• Excellent analytical and independent problem-solving skills; track record of delivering results.
• Employment is subject to U.S. export control requirements (ITAR/EAR); must be a U.S. Person or obtain necessary export license where required.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with simulation engines, electronic design automation (EDA) tools, or related domains.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
