Principal Engineer - ASIC DV
Role Summary
Lead verification of IP/block and subsystem-level ASIC designs. Work within the ASIC Design Verification team to create test plans, develop SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, drive verification to sign-off, and collaborate with cross-site domain specialists.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 10+ years of relevant ASIC verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include driving verification activities, mentoring engineers, and delivering sign-off quality for IPs and subsystems.
- Create and execute verification plans for IP/block/subsystem designs.
- Design and implement SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and tests.
- Perform RTL debug, implement scoreboards, assertions, and functional coverage.
- Analyze code coverage and ensure verification meets sign-off criteria.
- Lead and mentor verification engineers; provide technical direction.
- Coordinate with global teams and domain specialists on core technical initiatives.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience are listed first; preferred items are noted separately.
- Must-have: Proven expertise in IP/block/subsystem level verification and building verification plans.
- Experience developing UVM environments and verification test benches.
- Strong RTL debugging skills, experience with scoreboards, assertions, functional coverage coding, and code-coverage analysis.
- Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Experience with AMBA protocols (AXI/AHB).
- Knowledge of PCIe, NVMe, and DDR protocols and experience with controllers or similar IPs.
- Good written and verbal communication and ability to work in cross-functional, global teams.
- Nice-to-have / Preferred: Deep NVMe protocol experience, familiarity with security aspects (boot, ROM, firmware protection, key generation), experience using AI tools for engineering workflows, prior people management of ~5+ DV engineers, and proven technical leadership taking IPs/blocks to completion.
Education Requirements
M.S. / M.Tech or B.S. / B.E. in Electronics (or similar engineering degree). The role specifies 10+ years of relevant ASIC verification experience.
