Principal Engineer, ASIC Design Verification
Role Summary
Senior verification engineer responsible for defining and executing verification strategy for modules and subsystems of AI accelerators and memory-related SoC components within the DRAM Development Lab.
Work with architects and design engineers to build UVM testbenches, implement verification plans, drive closure on functional and code coverage, and support post-silicon bring-up and debug.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The team prefers candidates with extensive ASIC verification experience; the posting indicates 20+ years of relevant working experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, and executing verification for accelerator and memory-related subsystems.
- Define verification strategy and methodology for assigned modules/subsystems.
- Contribute to microarchitecture specifications and participate in design reviews.
- Architect and implement UVM testbenches and verification components.
- Create and execute verification plans; drive closure on functional and code coverage targets.
- Collaborate with architects and design engineers to define verification requirements.
- Provide post-silicon bring-up and debug support.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Must-have: Experience with UVM and SystemVerilog for verification.
- Strong programming skills in C++.
- Experience in logic and SoC verification from planning through closure.
- Familiarity with verification flows and common verification tools.
- Experience with UCIe, HBM controller, and Memory DFT.
- Post-silicon bring-up and debug experience.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with DDR and custom HBM IP/SOC-level verification.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies such as CXL, computation-in-memory, AI/LLM accelerators, and server memory/storage systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication, collaborative and creative problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements
BE in Computer or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is stated (MS preferred). The posting pairs this academic background with a preference for substantial ASIC verification experience (noted as 20+ years).
