Job Title

Principal Engineer / Architect, Digital Design Verification

Role Summary

Lead the definition and delivery of verification methodology and infrastructure for Synopsys digital IP and SoC projects. Work on verification flows, tooling integration, and methodology adoption across global teams within the Digital IP Verification Methodology (COE) team.

Focus on building scalable verification systems, applying AI-accelerated verification techniques, and mentoring engineers to raise verification quality and efficiency.

Experience Level

Senior β€” minimum 12+ years of hands-on IP/SoC verification experience; proven track record of technical leadership and delivery.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include architecting verification flows, driving methodology, and collaborating across product and tool teams.

  • Design and implement unified verification flows and infrastructures for digital IP products.
  • Apply agentic AI techniques to accelerate verification planning, testcase generation, coverage analysis, and debug.
  • Use and integrate Synopsys EDA tools (VCS, Verdi, VMS Execution Manager, Verdi Planner (HVP), VIPs) into verification flows.
  • Partner with global engineering teams to define, document, and propagate verification methodologies and standards.
  • Lead and mentor engineers; manage high-impact technical initiatives independently.
  • Collaborate with tool development teams to influence product direction and optimize workflows.
  • Support internal stakeholders and customers by troubleshooting and refining verification processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Minimum 12+ years of hands-on IP/SoC verification experience with demonstrable technical contributions.
  • Practical experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, Tcl, Python or similar scripting/programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Synopsys verification tools: VCS, Verdi, VMS Execution Manager, Verdi Planner (HVP), and VIPs.
  • Experience validating verification flows and infrastructures for complex digital designs.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to propagate methodologies across global teams.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and independently manage technical projects.
  • Good understanding of agentic AI technologies (Cursor and/or VS Code co-pilot) and a willingness to apply AI to verification.
  • Nice to have: exposure to agentic AI EDA tools and experience optimizing verification workflows for time-to-market.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
