Job Title

Principal Engineer - Analog Design

Role Summary

Principal analog design engineer on the Timing and Communication Group (TCG) Analog IP team. Responsible for designing, simulating, and validating analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits used in mixed-signal SoCs, including PLLs, high-speed I/Os, MEMS drivers and related IP blocks.

Work includes block-level design, process-corner simulation, developing behavioral models for system simulations, silicon validation and lab evaluation in collaboration with multi-site teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in analog and mixed-signal circuit design.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design specific analog IP blocks in collaboration with design leads and architects.
  • Simulate circuits across process, voltage, and temperature corners and operating conditions.
  • Develop behavioral models (e.g., Verilog-A) for inclusion in top-level mixed-signal simulations.
  • Perform block-level silicon validation and system-level laboratory evaluation.
  • Automate flows and scripts for design and validation tasks.
  • Collaborate with multi-site teams and support integration of analog IP into mixed-signal SOCs.
  • Occasional travel: 0%–25%.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience designing analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • High-speed analog design experience: ADCs, DACs, filters, PLLs, DLLs, and high-speed I/Os.
  • Strong fundamentals in circuit theory, analog design and layout skills.
  • Hands-on scripting and automation experience (SKILL, Python, Perl, Tcl).
  • Proficiency with Cadence IC design flow and tools.
  • Experience with Verilog-A for analog behavioral modeling and simulation.
  • Ability to validate designs in silicon and perform lab-based system evaluation.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with MEMS drivers and multi-GHz PLL circuits.
  • System-level design expertise for mixed-signal circuits.
  • Experience working with distributed/multi-site engineering teams.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering (as stated in the source).
