Principal Engineer, AI Software Solutions

Role Summary

Senior software enabling and optimization engineer focused on integrating, tuning, and validating software that leverages Intel hardware across AI, client and related markets. The role works with customers, ISVs/OSVs, and internal product teams to drive adoption and performance of Intel platforms.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical customer engagement, software integration, and driving product readiness and adoption.

  • Collaborate with customers, ecosystem software vendors, and open-source projects to develop, integrate, test, tune, debug, and optimize software solutions.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor for AI, client, and related computing domains to demonstrate Intel hardware and software value.
  • Research, prototype, and validate software that exercises Intel product capabilities and informs adoption strategies.
  • Lead pre-enabling and product development efforts to prepare products for production use and customer deployment.
  • Create technical collateral, training, benchmarks, and tools that demonstrate performance and interoperability.
  • Identify representative workloads, drive their integration into product requirements, and support product hardening and scalability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; education degrees summarized separately below.

  • 12+ years of experience in software development, performance optimization, debugging, or related engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in software development and debugging; experience with one or more programming languages and optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and system-level software development.
  • Hands-on experience with software validation, modeling, prototyping, and proof-of-concept design.
  • Experience engaging with customers and ecosystem partners; ability to present technical findings and recommendations.
  • Nice-to-have: domain experience in AI and client computing, consulting or technical support background, and strong cross-functional communication skills.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's (BS) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field β€” or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Master's (with ~10+ years' experience) or PhD (with ~8 years' experience). The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in lieu of degrees.
