Role Summary

The Principal Engineer will architect and build agentic AI infrastructure and integrations for CAD/EDA workflows within the Silicon Lifecycle Management (SLM) IP development team. This role sits in the AI Center of Excellence and focuses on delivering production-grade autonomous agent frameworks that accelerate IP design, verification, and lifecycle automation.

Work includes prototyping, integrating, and scaling multi-agent workflows and orchestration layers that connect LLMs, agents, and EDA toolchains across design, verification, synthesis, PnR, and timing.

Experience Level

Senior (Principal) - typically requires 12+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying CAD flows and infrastructure in silicon design environments.

Responsibilities

The role combines hands-on engineering, architecture, and technical leadership to deliver production agentic AI systems for silicon IP development.

• Architect and define AI-powered CAD infrastructure and integrate autonomous agents into core design and verification workflows.
• Design and build agentic frameworks and agents that improve engineering productivity and automate high-friction tasks.
• Deploy and operationalize a global Agentic AI platform into SLM IP development, building orchestration layers that connect LLMs, agents, and EDA tools.
• Design multi-agent workflows that automate IP design tasks, verification loops, and lifecycle analytics.
• Partner with IP designers, CAD engineers, and global AI platform teams to align architecture with engineering needs and deployment constraints.
• Build and maintain infrastructure ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability across the IP lifecycle.
• Prototype, test, and validate AI–CAD integrations in live development environments and iterate based on measurable improvements.
• Drive technical strategy and roadmap for AI-augmented CAD systems and translate emerging AI capabilities into engineering solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

Key qualifications and technical skills for successful candidates.

• Must-have: 12+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying advanced CAD flows and infrastructure in silicon design environments.
• Must-have: Proven experience implementing Agentic AI frameworks (examples: LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) or equivalent LLM orchestration and autonomous agent systems in production.
• Must-have: Mastery of Python and C++; strong proficiency with EDA scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, and Shell.
• Must-have: Track record building agents and orchestration layers that interact with design, verification, synthesis, PnR, and timing flows.

Nice-to-have:

• Technical understanding of silicon design phases, particularly IP development, verification, and lifecycle management workflows.
• Experience with Silicon Lifecycle Management concepts such as in-chip sensing, telemetry, and analytics.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, VLSI, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
