Role Summary
RFIC design engineer in Advanced Development for the Advanced Cellular business unit. Responsible for designing circuit blocks and systems in CMOS and RFSOI for cellular handset products and supporting cross-functional teams (technology, marketing, characterization, production and test).
Experience Level
Senior β Principal level. Posting specifies 8+ years of relevant RFIC/switch design experience.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Design LNAs, RF switches, antenna tuners, analog mixed-signal control and interface circuitry in CMOS and RFSOI technologies.
- Create schematics and run simulations; validate and correlate with lab measurements.
- Optimize designs for performance, size, cost, footprint, yield, ruggedness, ESD and manufacturability.
- Develop solutions for LTE, carrier aggregation, multi-antenna configurations, filters and power management.
- Use RF test equipment (signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers, power meters) to compare simulated and measured data.
- Collaborate with technology development, applications, project management, quality, characterization, production and test engineering.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 8+ years of RFIC/switch design experience; RFSOI experience preferred.
- Proficiency with ADS, AWR, HFSS, Momentum, FEM tools, Cadence and Dynamic Link workflows.
- Hands-on lab measurement experience and familiarity with RF test equipment and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization and attention to detail.
- Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced development environment and meet schedules.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior work on cellular handset RF front-ends, carrier aggregation, or multi-antenna systems.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering required. Minimum GPA of 3.0 specified in the posting.
