Role Summary

Join the Hong Kong product development team to design, develop, and validate high-speed fiber-optic transceiver products. The role covers schematic and PCB/substrate/FPC design, simulation, validation testing, and supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

Accountable for electrical design and validation across the product lifecycle for high-speed transceivers.

• Participate in full product development lifecycle for high-speed fiber-optic transceivers (EVT/DVT).
• Design circuit schematics and develop substrate/PCB/FPC layouts; produce manufacturing documentation (PCB files, BOM, assembly instructions).
• Collaborate with PCB/substrate/FPC suppliers and lead DFM reviews.
• Perform signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) simulations and implement design optimizations.
• Conduct hardware validation, debugging, and root-cause failure analysis.
• Evaluate and recommend electronic devices and components for product reliability and specifications.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and working behaviors.

• PCB and schematic design: practical experience designing analog/mixed-signal, power management, and MCU-controlled circuits and preparing manufacturing deliverables.
• EDA tools: proficiency with Cadence OrCAD and Allegro.
• Simulation and measurement: experience with SI/PI simulation and tools such as LTspice; practical use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, and power probes.
• Layout and manufacturing knowledge: RF/high-speed and power-aware multi-layer layout strategies; familiarity with HDI, SAP, mSAP processes and DFM practices.
• Validation & failure analysis: hands-on EVT/DVT testing, validation debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Interface protocols: working knowledge of serial protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, MDIO) for MCU-peripheral interfacing.
• Software / CAD: experience importing/handling 3D CAD models in PCB workflows; experience with Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Communication & teamwork: ability to work independently, manage priorities under pressure, and collaborate in a multi-cultural, multi-national team.
• Language: good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).
• Travel: willingness to travel occasionally to Mainland China and potentially overseas for technical support and supplier collaboration.

Nice-to-have: experience with ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS SIwave, Keysight ADS or equivalent advanced simulation tools; prior supplier-facing DFM leadership.

Education Requirements

Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related discipline.
