Principal Digital Verification Engineer - Memory Interface IP (HBM/DDR/LPDDR)
SynopsysJob Title
Principal Digital Verification Engineer - Memory Interface IP (HBM/DDR/LPDDR)
Role Summary
Lead verification effort for high-speed memory interface IP (HBM, DDR, LPDDR) within the ASIC/IP engineering organization. Collaborate with design, validation, and system teams to define verification strategy, create verification environments, and close functional and performance bugs.
Experience Level
Senior (Principal level). Specific years-of-experience not specified in the source.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities expected for this role include:
- Define and drive verification strategies for memory interface IP (HBM/DDR/LPDDR).
- Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and verification environments.
- Create directed and constrained-random tests, coverage plans, and scoreboards to validate functionality and performance.
- Lead root-cause analysis and debug of complex functional issues across design, firmware, and silicon bring-up.
- Integrate formal, emulation, and hardware-assisted verification where appropriate.
- Mentor and coordinate with other verification engineers and cross-functional teams to meet delivery targets.
Requirements
Key technical and professional requirements (must-have vs nice-to-have):
- Must-have: Strong experience in digital verification for high-speed memory interfaces (HBM/DDR/LPDDR) or related IP.
- Must-have: Proficiency with SystemVerilog and UVM; experience building verification environments and testbenches.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with simulation, coverage-driven verification, and debug tools.
- Must-have: Scripting skills for verification automation (Python, Tcl, or similar).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with formal verification, emulation, or hardware-assisted verification.
- Nice-to-have: Prior work on PHY/DRAM controller IP, SerDes, or system-level memory validation.
- Nice-to-have: Leadership experience mentoring engineers and driving cross-team technical initiatives.
