Principal Digital IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Senior verification engineer on the MME MCU/MPU Digital IP team responsible for defining and executing verification strategies and delivering robust verification environments for automotive and microcontroller IPs.
Work includes testbench development, coverage and assertion development, formal verification, debug, and technical leadership within a hybrid Austin-based team.

Responsibilities
Lead verification activities for digital IP and support cross-functional integration and productivity improvements.
- Define and execute verification plans and strategies for digital IP.
- Develop and implement SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, drivers, monitors, scoreboards, and VIP integration.
- Create directed and constrained-random stimulus; define and develop functional coverage models.
- Develop and maintain SystemVerilog assertions (SVA) and apply formal verification methods.
- Analyze RTL, functional coverage, and assertion coverage results; reproduce failures and perform root-cause analysis.
- Drive a zero-defect mindset and provide technical leadership on complex verification challenges.
- Mentor and grow a small team of engineers; collaborate with local and global SoC and IP teams to improve practices and productivity.
Requirements
Required technical skills and experience for the role.
- Strong expertise in Verilog and SystemVerilog; familiarity with VHDL is a plus.
- Experience with class-based verification methodologies such as OVM/UVM.
- Experience with formal verification methodologies.
- Knowledge of protocols such as DDR, PCIe, and AMBA (CHI, ACE, AXI).
- Experience building testbench components and leveraging advanced UVM VIPs.
- Practical experience with functional and code coverage methodologies; assertion development and coverage analysis.
- Strong debugging skills, including failure reproduction and root-cause analysis; familiarity with major simulation and debug tools.
- Scripting skills in Python, Perl, and UNIX/Linux environments.
- Low-power verification experience using CPF/UPF.
- Nice-to-have: FPGA/emulation/prototyping platform experience (HAPS, Palladium, Zebu) and experience applying AI/LLM-based methods to engineering workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 8+ years semiconductor industry experience; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with 5+ years; or PhD with 3+ years. Degrees in Electrical Engineering or related technical fields are expected as listed.
