Principal Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead digital design activities for advanced digital power-management ICs, focusing on design, verification, debug, simulation, and automation. Work within a specialized engineering team to deliver production-quality RTL and support pre- and post-silicon bring-up.

Senior - 10+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include implementation, verification, and leadership of digital design blocks.

• Develop, debug, and verify digital designs in pre- and post-silicon environments.
• Write and maintain tests to verify design intent against specifications.
• Develop and improve scripts to automate design and verification flows.
• Manage assigned design blocks: requirements, architecture, and implementation.
• Research and evaluate tools to improve the design process.
• Act as technical mentor for junior engineers and provide hands-on technical leadership.
• Serve as the functional digital design lead on projects and represent digital design across teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

Must-have:

• Proven design project experience with collaborative engineering practice.
• Proficient in creating CDC/RDC/LINT-clean RTL in Verilog.
• Comfortable debugging mixed-signal designs using SystemVerilog-based test benches.
• Experience with gate-level simulation and debug.
• Experience designing industry-standard serial interfaces (I2C, I3C, SPI, I2S, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills and systematic debug methodology.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Working experience with Cadence or Synopsys tool flows.
• Track record of hands-on technical leadership delivering successful projects.

Nice-to-have:

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
• Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M series processors and general computer architecture.
• Exposure to mixed-signal designs and basic analog circuit understanding.
• Experience in digital backend flows (synthesis / STA / place & route).
• Experience across full design flow: specification, micro-architecture, RTL, and backend.
• Familiarity with PMBus/SMBus, AVSBus, SVID, SVI3 protocols.

Education Requirements

BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (EE/ECE). The posting specifies 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
