Job Title
Principal DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Join the MCU & MPU Engineering & Design Enablement (MMEDE) team to implement and verify design-for-test (DFT) infrastructure for next-generation automotive, edge processing, and radar-processing products. Work across subsystem and top-level designs to ensure testability, memory BIST, scan insertion, and pattern generation for manufacturing.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting requests approximately 5+ years of DFT implementation and verification experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Implement and modify RTL to support DFT at subsystem and top levels.
- Insert MBIST logic for memories and verify MBIST functionality.
- Perform scan insertion, add TAP/IO/test pinmux per DFT flows, and resolve scan DRCs in RTL.
- Analyze ATPG reports and coverage; devise improvements and generate patterns for ATE.
- Execute power-aware RTL/GLS simulation bring-up and maintain regression suites for ATPG and non-ATPG flows.
- Support pattern bring-up on wafer probe and final test; collaborate with Product and Test teams to debug failures.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years of experience in DFT implementation and verification of scan architectures, JTAG, memory BIST, and ATPG.
- Experience with scan insertion, ATPG DRC and coverage analysis, and generating test patterns for ATE.
- RTL experience (Verilog or VHDL) and familiarity with simulation debug including timing/SDF issues.
- Ability to diagnose simulation failures and root-cause DFT-related issues.
- Experience with power-aware simulation flows and regression management for ATPG and non-ATPG runs.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior involvement in wafer-probe and final-test pattern bring-up or close collaboration with test engineering teams.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
