Job Title
Principal DDR Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Functional Validation Engineer responsible for driving validation specifications, methodology, test plans and execution for DDR and other high-speed interfaces within multi-core SoC/ASIC subsystems. The role validates IP and complex subsystems in a system environment and coordinates across architecture, design, verification, implementation, modeling, performance analysis, software, FPGA and board development teams.
Experience Level
Senior β 15+ years of silicon validation experience working on multiple sophisticated SoCs/ASICs and high-speed interfaces.
Responsibilities
Deliver validation for memory and platform subsystems, develop robust methodology, and lead cross-disciplinary execution.
- Define and own validation specifications, methodology and test plans for DDRx/LPDDRx, HBM and related subsystems.
- Develop, execute and debug validation tests across emulation, FPGA and development/eval boards.
- Create validation test content and tools using C/C++ and scripting languages.
- Drive use-case and system-level validation, including power, performance and area trade-off analysis.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, verification, performance and software teams to close validation gaps.
- Produce clear validation documentation and reports for complex designs.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills.
Must-have:
- 15+ years of silicon validation experience on multi-core CPU/GPU SoCs or ASICs with high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe/CXL, DDRx/LPDDRx, HBM).
- Proven ability to design and develop validation test content using C/C++.
- Practical experience across all stages of silicon validation, including use-case validation, execution and debug.
- Experience producing validation specifications and technical documentation for sophisticated designs.
- Expert knowledge of computer architectures and processor-based system design.
- Familiarity with shell scripting and automation tools (Tcl, Perl, Python, etc.).
- Ability to balance trade-offs between power, performance and area.
Nice-to-have:
- Deeper ownership experience for CPU/GPU/media subsystem validation and validation planning.
- Hands-on validation across emulation, FPGA and board platforms for multiple subsystems.
- Familiarity with SoC security aspects and additional high-speed peripheral controllers (Ethernet, etc.).
Education Requirements
