Job Title

Principal ASIC/FPGA Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead the design, implementation, and verification of testbenches and verification environments for high-performance digital ASICs and FPGAs on Mission Systems programs. Work within a verification team to define verification strategy, produce test plans, and ensure RTL designs meet functional and coverage goals.

Experience Level

Senior. Principal-level role; the posting indicates degree-based experience guidance (see Education Requirements) and several years of chip-level verification experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for architecting verification environments, driving verification activities, and providing technical leadership for verification teams.

  • Architect and implement verification environments using SystemVerilog with OVM/UVM.
  • Write test plans, create and run test cases, and track code and functional coverage.
  • Develop RTL block-level testbenches using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Recommend and adopt tools and practices to improve the ASIC/FPGA verification flow.
  • Provide technical leadership for verification teams, including planning, status reporting, and mentoring.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, security eligibility, and verification experience.

  • Active U.S. government security clearance required prior to start.
  • U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
  • Professional experience developing and simulating RTL using VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and verification methodologies (OVM/UVM).
  • Experience with chip-level verification methodologies (device-level verification experience expected).
  • Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git or Subversion.
  • Experience in Unix/Linux environments and scripting (C/C++, Python, Perl).
  • Knowledge of ASIC/FPGA simulation and synthesis tools (examples: QuestaSim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Education Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. STEM fields include (but are not limited to) Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
