Principal ASIC Chip Design Engineer

Role Summary

Technical lead on the Chip Design Methodologies team based in Tel Aviv / Yokneam. Responsible for setting methodology direction, developing shared design code and flows, integrating tools, and driving adoption of innovations that improve ASIC pre-silicon productivity and quality.

Experience Level

Senior — 15+ years of hands-on pre-silicon ASIC design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include defining methodology direction, evaluating tools, collaborating with design teams, and mentoring engineers.

• Define technical vision and drive methodology, micro-architecture and process improvements for chip design flows.
• Evaluate, develop and integrate AI-based tools and automated flows to improve design productivity.
• Collaborate with chip design stakeholders to identify problems and architect scalable solutions and best practices.
• Act as primary technical interface with EDA vendors and lead tool evaluation and integration.
• Develop shared design code, libraries and solutions for wide adoption across teams.
• Mentor engineers, create training materials, and guide designers on implementation and best practices.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives and align technical roadmaps across multiple teams.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and experience.

• 15+ years of hands-on pre-silicon ASIC design experience.
• Proven technical leadership with a track record of driving cross-team initiatives to completion.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to mentor and influence senior engineers.
• Experience working with EDA tools and integrating vendor technology into design flows.
• Experience architecting shared design code and automation for multi-team use.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with AI-based development tools and flows.
• Broad system-level understanding of chip design development and flows.
• Experience with CDC and power-saving techniques (clock gating, power gating).

Education Requirements

BSc in Electrical Engineering.
