Job Title

Principal Architect, SoC and Systems Modelling

Role Summary

Work in NVIDIA's Architecture Modeling group to model, analyze, validate, and improve SoC and system performance. The role involves designing and implementing simulation and analysis tools, driving feature implementation across functional and performance models, and collaborating with architects and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities include modeling, tool development, validation, and mentoring.

  • Model and analyze SoC and system algorithms, performance, and features.
  • Design, develop, and maintain tools and simulators for architecture analysis and validation.
  • Implement and extend functional and performance models as needed.
  • Create tests, test plans, and infrastructure for new architectures and features; produce code coverage and validation reports.
  • Collaborate across modeling teams and other engineering groups in a matrixed environment.
  • Mentor early-career engineers and promote sound coding and engineering practices.
  • Evaluate and adopt new modeling techniques and frameworks to improve capability and efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; education and degree requirements are summarized separately below.

  • Strong programming skills in C++ and C.
  • Experience with build systems and toolchains such as CMake, make, GCC, and MSVC.
  • Familiarity with standard libraries and utilities (STL, Boost).
  • Experience in computer architecture modeling and performance analysis; experience implementing models in C++ and/or SystemC/TLM.
  • Experience with CI and container tooling such as Docker and Jenkins.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages used for tooling and automation (Python, Perl).
  • Experience building testing infrastructure, test plans, and coverage reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in distributed teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; alternatives given: 15+ years relevant work experience, or a Master’s degree with 12+ years, or a PhD with 7+ years. Equivalent experience language is explicitly permitted.
