Principal Application Engineer (Team Lead)
Role Summary
Lead a team of Application Engineers focused on emulation and FPGA prototyping. This is a customer-facing technical leadership role combining hands-on debugging, solution deployment, and team development.
Based in the Cadence Katowice office with a remote engagement model, primarily supporting customers in Israel.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for team delivery, customer success, and technical leadership across emulation and prototyping engagements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Application Engineers.
- Provide technical guidance and contribute hands-on to debugging and deployment.
- Support customer engagements across pre-sales and post-sales, including evaluations, benchmarks, and PoCs.
- Design and deploy emulation and prototyping solutions; guide acceleration flows and development methodologies.
- Act as technical escalation point and manage multiple customer priorities.
- Collaborate with Sales, R&D, and global AE teams to align on account objectives and customer requirements.
Requirements
Key technical and leadership skills required for success in the role.
- Experience in SoC design and/or verification.
- Hands-on experience with emulation or FPGA prototyping.
- Strong RTL debug skills (SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL).
- Understanding of verification methodologies such as UVM.
- Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles and supporting distributed/remote customers.
- Leadership or mentoring experience guiding engineers (formal or informal).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Must be eligible to work in Poland (EU national or valid work authorization).
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The role typically expects 8+ years of relevant experience.
