Principal Application Engineer
Role Summary
As a senior member of the India Field Organization for the Digital and Signoff Group, you will partner with semiconductor customers to develop and deploy RTL-to-GDSII methodologies, improve design metrics, and influence product direction. The role combines customer-facing consulting, technical problem solving, and collaboration with sales and R&D.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 10+ years' experience in digital implementation and signoff flows.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer engagement, methodology development, and technical leadership.
- Drive RTL-to-GDSII metrics and implementation for complex, advanced-node designs.
- Lead methodology and solution-focused discussions with customers and stakeholders.
- Partner with sales to shape account strategy and technical campaigns.
- Evangelize and drive adoption of new tools and techniques across customers.
- Produce practical solutions using tool capabilities, scripting, or ML-based techniques to improve productivity and PPA.
- Isolate complex problems and coordinate with R&D for resolution.
- Collaborate with worldwide AE teams and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and behavioral expectations.
- Must have: 10+ years' experience in digital implementation flows on advanced nodes; demonstrated expertise in one or more of Synthesis, P&R (Place & Route), or STA (Static Timing Analysis).
- Must have: Strong debugging skills with the ability to separate critical issues from minor ones.
- Must have: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; experience establishing strong customer relationships.
- Nice to have: Scripting and flow development experience.
- Nice to have: Experience deploying ML-based solutions to improve EDA productivity or PPA.
- Nice to have: Prior experience influencing product direction or collaborating closely with R&D teams.
Education Requirements
BE / BTech / ME / MS / MTech in Electrical or Electronics engineering.
