Principal Application Engineer
Role Summary
Senior technical contributor on the Performance Computing Power Applications team focused on power-management solutions for infrastructure and AI servers. Collaborate with marketing, device engineering, firmware, IC design, and other application teams to define, validate, and deliver digital multiphase power solutions.

Senior-level — requires 12+ years of experience in the power management industry.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer-facing validation, system-level support, and cross-functional enablement:
- Travel to customer sites to debug, validate, and integrate digital multiphase PWM controller products.
- Work with customers to diagnose and resolve complex power-management issues.
- Support product marketing by mapping customer requirements to detailed technical solutions.
- Contribute to system validation of modules, vertical/lateral power stages, and controller products.
- Provide detailed design inputs to engineering teams and verify designs at system level.
- Produce technical collateral such as datasheets, performance reports, and application notes.
- Train and mentor other application and field engineers to broaden product support capability.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Minimum 12+ years in the power management industry.
- Experience supporting MOSFETs, GaN devices, and power stage design.
- Experience with digitally enabled power management products and digital multiphase controllers.
- Strong understanding of control-loop theory as applied to power converters.
- Hands-on experience with multiphase DC/DC converters and mixed-signal IC/system integration.
- Proficiency using lab equipment including network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and waveform generators.
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites in Asia and the United States.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in infrastructure or AI server power subsystems.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in engineering (electrical engineering or power electronics preferred); Master’s degree preferred. The posting specifies these degrees as the expected academic background.
