Job Title
Principal Analog & Mixed-Signal Design Engineer - Power/ATE
Role Summary
Lead design and delivery of high-performance analog and mixed-signal power-delivery and measurement ICs for Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). The role focuses on architecture, transistor-level design, simulation, characterization, and release-to-production within a cross-functional product team.
Work with product, layout, test, CAD/EDA and project teams to integrate blocks into complex mixed-signal systems used in production testing of advanced processors and memory devices.
Experience Level
Senior β requires substantial prior experience. The posting specifies 10+ years of experience as an analog circuit designer.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include end-to-end design and integration of mixed-signal ICs and support across development functions.
- Lead medium- and high-complexity IC projects from architecture selection through implementation and debugging.
- Design and simulate transistor-level analog and mixed-signal circuits and top-level block integration.
- Define and apply design and verification techniques, tools and flows to meet specifications.
- Integrate blocks into larger mixed-signal systems and manage analog/digital team interactions.
- Support layout, test engineering, and product engineering to ensure successful delivery and production release.
- Perform hands-on evaluation and characterization of ICs in the lab.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, applications, CAD/EDA, and project management.
- Travel to support product definition and customer interactions (expected, ~10%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, domain experience, and professional abilities.
- 10+ years' practical experience in analog circuit design (experience requirement retained here).
- Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal design, tools and flows.
- Design experience with amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, bias circuits, LDOs, and switching power-supply circuits.
- Proven experience leading complex, large mixed-signal IC designs and managing multi-discipline teams.
- Good understanding of power-supply control architectures and measurement techniques.
- Familiarity with BCD process technologies and interaction with digital IC design teams.
- Knowledge of physical reliability phenomena (latch-up, HCI degradation, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills; ability to take ownership of top-level subsystems.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience specifically targeting ATE applications or high-performance power-handling for testing advanced computational ICs.
Education Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (as stated in the posting).
