Principal Analog IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design and delivery of high-speed analog and mixed-signal ICs from concept through volume production. Work within a global High-Speed IC Design team focused on TIAs and laser drivers for datacenter, 5G, and fiber applications.
Serve as technical authority and project technical lead, driving circuit architecture, manufacturable designs, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
Principal responsibilities and typical allocation of effort:
- Lead design and development of high-speed analog ICs, ensuring designs meet specifications and schedules (approx. 40%).
- Own critical chip subsystems and act as technical lead across cross-functional project teams (approx. 20%).
- Collaborate with Product, Test, Verification, Reliability, and Product Engineering to deliver production-ready devices (approx. 15%).
- Drive circuit architecture and innovation to improve performance and efficiency (approx. 10%).
- Mentor and support junior engineers; provide technical guidance (approx. 10%).
- Prepare and present technical reports and briefings to senior stakeholders (approx. 5%).

Must-have: 15+ years of analog IC design experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Deep knowledge of CMOS and BiCMOS analog circuit design practices.
- Proven experience as technical lead on chip development projects.
- Strong RF analog design experience at or above 10 GHz.
- Expert proficiency with Cadence design and simulation tools.
- Solid understanding of RF/analog layout techniques (parasitics, matching, ESD, crosstalk, IR drop).
- Demonstrated innovation and creative problem-solving ability; fluent written and spoken English.

Nice-to-have: experience with device modelling (Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog), high-frequency lab validation, DFM/reliability/yield optimisation, and familiarity with optoelectronic components and laser drivers/TIAs.
