Principal Analog Engineer
Role Summary
Design and lead development of power MOSFET blocks and associated analog circuitry for Intelligent Power Devices (IPD). The role partners with analog block leads and cross-functional teams to define system and design strategy and to drive products from specification through mass production.
Position is based in Kodaira, Japan and uses a hybrid work model (two remote days per week; core office days Tuesday–Thursday).
Experience Level
Senior level. Recommended experience: approximately 5–8 years in semiconductor engineering.
Responsibilities
Accountabilities include design, verification, simulation, and technical leadership for power FET-related analog circuitry.
- Design, verify, and simulate power MOSFET blocks, including sense MOSFETs and temperature sensors, to meet performance, operating range, and power specifications.
- Collaborate with analog block leads to define IPD system architecture and design strategy.
- Provide technical leadership for power FET technology from specification through mass production.
- Support expansion of the IPD/product portfolio and cross-functional product development activities.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills for immediate contribution.
- 5–8 years of experience as a semiconductor engineer.
- Practical familiarity with product development elements: design methodology, design process, CAD tools, test design, physical design, and system-level application.
- Understanding of thermal design for driver ICs.
- Ability to support and mentor less-experienced team members.
- Conversational English (approx. TOEIC 600) and conversational Japanese.
Nice-to-have
- Experience in automotive applications or automotive product development.
- Experience with smart power ICs or power MOSFET product lines.
