Job Title

Principal Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

Architect, design and verify high-precision CMOS analog blocks for custom ASICs, including Tx, Rx, PLL and DDR I/O, to meet performance, area, power and schedule targets. Work on analog design for client/data-center server applications within a cross-functional system and test environment.

Experience Level

Senior level. The role expects approximately 10–15 years of analog circuit design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, cross-team coordination, and documentation for high-performance analog blocks.

  • Design and optimize high-speed DDR I/O interfaces (DDR5/DDR6), ensuring signal integrity and compliance with standards.
  • Serve as principal liaison between Analog Design and Verification/Validation/Test teams.
  • Analyze silicon ATE and bench data versus product specifications; use Excel, MATLAB or scripts to extract actionable results.
  • Collaborate with digital and systems engineers to integrate analog and digital components.
  • Perform comprehensive simulations and testing to validate performance and reliability; address issues and implement fixes.
  • Ensure designs meet EM/IR and aging requirements and that layouts meet analog matching and performance standards.
  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation, specifications and reports.
  • Propose low-power and performance-improving innovations and improvements to design methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; items marked as nice-to-have are optional.

  • Must-have: 10–15 years of analog circuit design experience, including Rx/Tx design and signal integrity expertise.
  • Must-have: Deep experience with high-speed DDR I/O architecture and optimization (emphasis on DDR5/DDR6).
  • Must-have: Proficiency with analog design and simulation tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Maestro, Spectre and HSPICE.
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of general analog design principles, signal integrity, and circuit reliability (EM/IR/aging).
  • Must-have: Experience producing and reviewing analog layouts to meet matching and performance targets.
  • Must-have: Ability to analyze large ATE/bench datasets using MATLAB, Excel or scripting languages.
  • Must-have: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with client/data-center server circuits and system-level validation.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to design best practices.

Education Requirements

Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or PhD) in Electronics, Microelectronics Engineering or a related technical discipline is specified. The posting does not state an explicit equivalent-experience alternative.
