Principal Analog Design Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Principal Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver block-level analog and mixed-signal circuits for DRAM products, driving circuit performance, quality, and yield from concept through silicon. Work within the DRAM IP Design team and collaborate with global design, verification, layout, and product groups.
This principal role requires independent technical leadership and deep circuit-level expertise; decisions made here affect production silicon at scale.
Experience Level
Senior - principal-level engineer. Typical experience: 10+ years in analog or mixed-signal IC design (role expects substantial industry experience at a senior level).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, verifying, and improving analog/mixed-signal blocks for DRAM and supporting silicon bring-up and production yield.
- Design, optimize, and verify block-level analog and mixed-signal circuits for DRAM products.
- Propose, evaluate, and implement new circuit topologies to improve power, performance, area, and cost (PPAC).
- Integrate agentic AI and AI-assisted design flows with data science and EDA tools to accelerate circuit optimization.
- Expand verification coverage to improve robustness and mass-production yield.
- Guide layout through post-layout simulation and support silicon-to-simulation correlation.
- Collaborate with global design and cross-functional teams and operate independently to define solutions and methods.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities; preferred items listed separately.
- Strong analog circuit design fundamentals and practical experience with regulators, charge pumps, oscillators, current references, bandgaps, or comparators.
- Proficiency with SPICE and Verilog modeling and simulation for analog/mixed-signal circuits.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate physical layout efforts for analog circuits and perform post-layout verification.
- Experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams, including global stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skills in circuit debugging and silicon correlation.
- Nice-to-have: recent hands-on use of AI-assisted design tools, strong device-physics knowledge and CMOS process understanding, and mentoring/leadership experience.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with significant industry experience (posting indicates principal-level typically with ~10+ years). Preferred: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent advanced degree; preferred senior experience thresholds noted (e.g., MSEE with 10+ years or BSEE with 12+ years). No certifications were specified. Equivalent practical experience was not explicitly stated.
