Job Title

Principal Analog Design Engineer

Role Summary

Work in Qorvo's Power Management division to define architecture, design, and validate high-performance analog power management ICs (PMICs, power-loss protection, motor control, battery management). Collaborate with system, layout, test, and global design teams to deliver production-ready silicon that meets efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability targets.

Experience Level

Senior β€” professional level. Role expects approximately 12+ years of engineering experience and 8+ years in analog/mixed-signal IC design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead architecture and transistor-level design of analog power management ICs (including DC-DC converters).
  • Define product specifications and trade-offs with system engineers to meet performance, power, and cost targets.
  • Select and implement circuit topologies that ensure robustness, yield, and manufacturability.
  • Perform circuit simulation, validation, and verification to meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Work with layout engineers to optimize floorplanning, parasitics, and overall silicon performance.
  • Coordinate with global design teams to align development strategies and schedules.
  • Partner with test and characterization teams to define validation methods and production test strategies.
  • Prepare technical documentation and present design decisions and trade-offs in reviews.

Requirements

Core experience and technical skills required; preferred items listed separately.

  • 12+ years of engineering experience in the semiconductor industry or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years in analog and mixed-signal IC design, with experience in DC-DC power converter architectures and control methods (voltage-mode, current-mode).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with EDA flows and tools for EMIR, capacitive coupling analysis, parasitic extraction, and floating node issues.
  • Track record of production release of power management ICs.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Simplis, ADS.
  • Hands-on lab experience supporting high-frequency switching power supplies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
