Job Title
Principal Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
As a Principal Analog Design Engineer on the DRAM IP Design team, you will design and deliver block-level analog and mixed-signal circuits from concept through silicon. You will partner with global design, verification, product, and EDA teams and operate independently to define solutions that meet performance, quality, and yield targets.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 10+ years of semiconductor analog/mixed-signal IC design experience (per role guidance).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, optimize, and verify block-level analog and mixed-signal circuits for DRAM products.
- Propose and implement new or improved circuit topologies to improve PPAC (performance, power, area, cost).
- Use SPICE, Verilog, and post-layout simulation to validate designs and guide layout.
- Expand verification coverage and improve robustness for mass-production yield.
- Collaborate with data science teams and EDA vendors to integrate AI-assisted design flows for circuit optimization.
- Support silicon-to-simulation correlation and cross-functional debugging with product and verification teams.
- Provide technical leadership and operate independently to define methods and solutions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 10+ years of semiconductor analog or mixed-signal IC design experience.
- Strong analog circuit design fundamentals with experience on regulators, charge pumps, oscillators, current references, bandgaps, or comparators.
- Proficiency with SPICE and Verilog modeling and simulation.
- Ability to supervise physical layout of analog circuits and work with layout engineers.
- Experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams and guiding design through production.
- Experience in circuit debugging and silicon correlation.
- Nice-to-have: hands-on recent AI usage for design, deep understanding of device physics and CMOS process technologies, prior DRAM circuit design experience, and mentoring/coaching experience.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 10+ years of semiconductor design experience. Preferred: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with 10+ years, or BSEE with 12+ years, in analog or mixed-signal IC design. Fields: Electrical Engineering or closely related technical fields.
