Job Title
Principal AI Accelerator Architect Lead
Role Summary
Lead system-level architecture and implementation of ultra-low-power, tightly integrated AI accelerator solutions for embedded and edge platforms. Work on MicroAI team to translate product requirements into architecture, detailed specifications, system models, and implementation guidance across analog, digital, processor, memory, and firmware domains.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 10+ years of relevant practical experience in digital and analog AI accelerator systems and ASIC development.
Responsibilities
Define and drive end-to-end AI compute architectures from concept to detailed hardware and system specifications.
- Translate product functions and workloads into system architectures and block-level specifications for IP, processors, memory, firmware, and AI engines.
- Explore and evaluate novel representations and computing modalities for intelligence beyond conventional digital models.
- Assess trade-offs under physical constraints (power, noise, variability, manufacturability) and bridge research to deployable designs.
- Lead architecture exploration and collaborate with modeling teams to produce system-level insights and models.
- Define hardware block interfaces; contribute to modeling and, where appropriate, RTL development.
- Collaborate across architecture, design, verification, firmware, and physical design teams to realize architectural intent.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multiple projects and SoC generations.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience, and responsibilities for successful candidates.
- 10+ years practical experience in digital and analog AI accelerator systems architecture for embedded/physical AI platforms (robotics, drones, AV systems, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with digital signal processing and both analog and digital neural-network compute architectures.
- Proven ability to map AI workloads into compute and pipeline requirements.
- Proven ASIC design expertise including high-speed and low-power RTL development, SystemVerilog usage for analog compute representation, and familiarity with physical design flows and constraints.
- Strong expertise in SystemC modeling and virtual prototyping; ability to build and analyze complex system-level models.
- Deep understanding of processor architecture: datapaths, memory hierarchies, interconnects, peripherals, and chip-level interfaces.
- Proficiency with advanced verification methodologies: UVM, SystemVerilog, SystemC, constrained-random testing, functional coverage, and assertions.
- Strong programming skills in C and other languages used for modeling, simulation, or design.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, management experience, excellent written and verbal communication, and strong work ethic.
- Travel: up to 10% required. Shift: 1st Shift / Days.
Education Requirements
PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in minimum qualifications).
