Pre-Silicon Signoff Lead
SynopsysJob Title
Pre-Silicon Signoff Lead
Role Summary
Lead pre-silicon simulation, verification, and sign-off activities for high-speed connectivity IP (SerDes, transceivers) working across analog, digital, firmware, and hardware teams. Own verification strategy, metrics, and sign-off deliverables to ensure reliable PCIe and Ethernet IP for enterprise and data-center customers.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting requests 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning and executing verification and sign-off activities and coordinating cross-disciplinary teams.
- Develop and maintain simulation and verification plans for IP sign-off.
- Coordinate verification execution across analog, cosim, digital verification, GLS, formal, and emulation teams.
- Establish, monitor, and report verification metrics (functional, code, assertion coverage) and drive coverage closure.
- Review verification progress and results through regular cross-team meetings and documentation.
- Collaborate with firmware and algorithm teams to define hardware regression plans for successive FW releases.
- Produce sign-off collateral: test plans, test cases, coverage reports, and sign-off documentation.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers; provide technical leadership in testbench architecture and planning.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience. Nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Must-have: Deep expertise in high-speed protocols, especially PCIe and Ethernet.
- Must-have: Strong verification skills: SystemVerilog, object-oriented verification, UVM/VMM/OVM, assertion-based verification, and coverage closure practices.
- Must-have: Strong scripting/programming: Python, TCL, Perl, and C/C++.
- Must-have: In-depth knowledge of high-speed analog and digital design principles and familiarity with SerDes modeling and validation.
- Must-have: Experience with verification flows including analog/cosimulation, digital verification, GLS, formal methods, and emulation.
- Must-have: Proven leadership in testbench architecture, verification planning, cross-site collaboration, and mentoring.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience delivering verification sign-off for enterprise/hyperscale products and working directly with external customers on debug and support.
- Nice-to-have: Experience coordinating firmware regression plans and integration testing with FW teams.
Education Requirements
MSc or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering is specified. The posting also pairs this with a requirement for 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
