Job Title

Pre-Si Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Client Engineering Group on the graphics front-end SoC verification team to validate next-generation client SoC designs before silicon tape-out. The role focuses on pre-silicon verification using simulation, emulation, and advanced verification methodologies to ensure functional correctness, power and performance targets.

Experience Level

Senior — 8 to 15 years of relevant SoC/subsystem/IP verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, executing, and improving pre-silicon verification for complex SoC designs.

  • Define and implement SoC/subsystem/IP verification plans aligned to architecture and design specifications.
  • Design, build, and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and verification environments.
  • Create constrained-random and directed test scenarios and verification content.
  • Perform simulation and emulation runs to validate functionality, power, and performance; execute regression flows.
  • Debug RTL and testbench failures and perform root-cause analysis in a pre-silicon environment.
  • Drive coverage closure (functional, code, and assertion) and analyze results.
  • Collaborate with architecture, RTL design, post-silicon validation, and tooling teams to close issues and improve coverage.
  • Lead verification activities and mentor junior engineers; document verification plans and participate in reviews.
  • Improve verification methodology, infrastructure, and automation; incorporate post-silicon learnings into future verification.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.

  • 8 to 15 years of hands-on SoC/subsystem/IP front-end pre-silicon verification experience.
  • Strong expertise with SystemVerilog and UVM-based testbench development.
  • Experience developing constrained-random and directed tests and verification content.
  • Practical experience with simulation and emulation platforms and running large regressions.
  • Proven debug skills for RTL and testbench issues and familiarity with root-cause analysis workflows.
  • Experience with coverage-driven verification and tools for functional, code, and assertion coverage analysis.
  • Experience improving verification automation, infrastructure, and CI/regression flows.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; experience mentoring and leading verification engineers.
  • Familiarity with applying AI/ML tools to assist verification coding, debugging, and quality sign-off is desirable.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's (BE/B.Tech) or Master’s (M.Tech) in Electrical & Communications Engineering (ECE) or Computer Science is specified in the posting.
