Pre-Si FPGA Platform Development Engineer (Temporary)
Intel CorporationJob Title
Pre-Si FPGA Platform Development Engineer (Temporary)
Role Summary
Develop and maintain emulation and FPGA prototype models and collateral from RTL for pre-silicon verification, post-silicon validation, and software development. Work across simulation, emulation, and FPGA flows to accelerate RTL development and improve model usability.
This is a temporary contract role with a duration of approximately 2 years, collaborating closely with design, validation, firmware, and software teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically requires 3+ years of relevant experience in digital/FPGA/emulation work.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building, integrating, validating, and improving emulation/FPGA environments and related tools.
- Develop, integrate, test, and debug hardware and software collateral in simulation, emulation, and FPGA models.
- Create directed tests, test environments, and hybrid emulation setups to validate features and firmware.
- Perform RTL validation and debug failing RTL tests on emulation/prototype platforms; identify root causes in testbench, IP, or SoC.
- Optimize pre-silicon verification environments and test suites for emulation efficiency; advise verification teams on best practices.
- Develop automation, flows, and scripts to increase emulation utilization and usability.
- Participate in SoC and IP bring-up and troubleshoot emulator/FPGA environment issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, environment capabilities, and work authorization.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in digital design and verification.
- Strong experience with digital design concepts: combinational logic, synchronous state machines, asynchronous design.
- Experience with computer architecture and common interfaces (USB, UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, etc.).
- Proficiency in Hardware Description Languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL).
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as C, C++, Python, Perl, or Java.
- Practical experience with FPGA design flow and Linux OS.
- Intermediate to advanced English communication skills.
- Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico; this role is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship.
- Nice-to-have: software/firmware or system-level development; UEFI BIOS knowledge on Intel architecture; debug experience in Linux/Android/Windows; low-level system/RTL programming; familiarity with IP/subsystem domains (power management, security, RAS).
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
